Having great mental strength is the capacity  to deal effectively with stressors, pressures and challenges and still perform to the best of your ability, irrespective of the circumstances in which you find themselves

  1. Emotional Responsibility
  • Emotional responsibility includes being accountable for not only our actions and behaviors, but also our thoughts and our feelings.
  1. Take Initiative
  • No one is entitled to anything in life. No opportunity will fall into your lap because success is not just fair. If you are not willing to take initiative, your dreams may never come true no matter how much you want them too.
  1. Accepting Chaos
  • You need to understand and accept that there are many things that are outside your control. Wanting to be in control of everything can be a sign of anxiety and insecurities.
  1. Emotional Intelligence
  • The ability to understand, use, and manage your own emotions in positive ways is very important to relieve stress, communicate effectively, empathize with others, overcome challenges. It may also helps you build stronger relationships and succeed in what you decide to do. It can also help you to connect with your feelings, turn intention into action, and make informed decisions about what matters most to you.
  1. Changing Opinions
  • Changing your mind or opinion  doesn’t mean you’re moving away from who you are. You may have realized the people you believed in aren’t trustworthy and you’re accepting that the path you thought was right wasn’t in the end. Also, you’re figuring out how to move forward with more perspective and maturity. So don’t forget that we all have the right to change and in turn grow.
  1. Reinforcing Boundaries
  • It’s impossible to please everyone. Creating boundaries to dedicate your time and effort to other people. Kindness and generosity are wonderful traits but before you can make anyone else happy, you have to make yourself happy
  1. Credit Success
  • Be proud of your achievements. Never be ashamed of the things that you do in order to be successful. Give credits to anyone who was behind your success.
  1. Self-Comparisons
  • Avoid comparing yourself to others, as no people are the same. If you see someone ahead of you, don’t worry if you are behind. Instead look at yourself  and remind yourself of how you are improving.
  1. Expressing Emotions
  • Some people are quick to show anger but lurking just beneath those angry feelings are more uncomfortable emotions. Labeling your feelings and finding ways to express those emotions in a healthy way takes strength.
  1. Walking Away
  • Being mentally strong also means recognizing when it’s time to walk away. For example you may be  walking away from a heated dispute because you know nothing productive is going to happen, walking away doesn’t mean you’re striking out, instead it means you are the bigger person.
